Efficiency is not the same as expansion
Treasury efficiency is a survival tool not a growth engine

Efficiency is not the same as expansion.

Treasury management can repair a balance sheet but it cannot buy a consumer.
Nestlé Nigeria reported a 51.5% increase in pre-tax profit to N193.88 billion for the first nine months of 2026. This jump was fueled by a 73.2% drop in net finance costs. It is a story of debt management, not market dominance.
Revenue grew 10.4% to N976.53 billion. This trails domestic inflation by a wide margin. In real terms, the company is selling less product to fewer people. The institution is getting leaner while its market footprint shrinks.
Reducing losses from N112.78 billion to N9.40 billion proves capital discipline. It does not prove product-market fit. When exchange gains outpace volume growth, the business is a hedge fund with a food factory attached.
Lasting value requires protecting the inflation-adjusted wallet share. Everything else is just accounting.
